Dr. Mario D. Anderson, PT, DPT, COMT, CFE


Dr. Anderson was born in Mobile, Alabama by the way Pensacola, Florida. Faith, Family, and Friends are the things that bring him happiness. He enjoys vacation time away with his family, gardening, and good ole fashion football games. Dr. Anderson attended Florida Agriculture and Mechanical University and obtain an undergraduate Bachelors’ of Science degree in Health Science, minor in Psychology and Rehabilitation Counseling Management. During his time in Tallahassee, Florida, he always had a passion and skill for working with children. Dr. Anderson was a counselor for Health Care Opportunities Program (HCOP), volunteered at Special Olympics events, and worked at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital’s Behavior Health Center counseling Adults, Young Adults, and Adolescence. Dr. Anderson then went to continue his passion with a burning pursuit for a Doctorate Degree of Physical Therapy at Florida Agriculture and Mechanical University. 


After Graduation, Dr. Anderson advanced quickly to clinical management positions. He spent over 5 years with outpatient companies in Atlanta, Georgia learning what makes clinics productive. During the those years, him and his team was awarded in 2012 Top New Patient Growth (32.3%), 2012 Above the Line Clinician, 2012 Turn Around Clinic, and Year over Year 2012 new patient growth 54% (#1 in Georgia), and Overall Top 10% Clinics out of 800 clinics- #13 in the company.


As a Clinic Director, where he assist in a start-up clinic, Dr. Anderson responsibility was for the overall administration of rehabilitation services in a manner consistent with the company’s mission, vision, and values. Responsibilities included, but were not limited to, the effective management of clinic operations and performance, supervision of all assigned staff in the clinic, evaluation and treatment of patients, regular communication with leadership team and referral sources, and modeling appropriate professional behavior and leadership at all times. His job functions were leadership, direct patient care, communication, personal and professional management, resource management, marketing, and teaching and supervision.


As a result of his background, he has gained extensive knowledge in advanced pain assessment, medical screening and biomechanical differential diagnosis for physical therapist.  Dr. Anderson has trained at Dedeaux’s Research Institute National Pitching Association of the University of Southern California to become a certified National Pitching Coach/Instructor. He is certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist, American Red Cross Emergency First Responder, and is certified in Trigger Point Dry Needling, Kinesiotaping, and Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM). He is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), The Physical Therapy Association of Georgia, Virginia Physical Therapy Association, and Private Practice Section of the APTA, and The United States Track and Field USATF. He is an APTA Clinical Instructor and opened all his facilities to mentor students of George Washington University, University of Maryland, Emory University, Clayton State University, Florida Agriculture and Mechanical University, Syracuse University, University of Southern California, Atlanta Metropolitan College and others.


Dr. Anderson is also proactive in the community with his outreach to United States Olympics Committee (USOC), health fairs, Special Olympics events, Phoenix Rising for Haiti, Disaster Emergency Medical Programs with the Veterans Affairs (DEMPS), Westlake High School Health Care Science Program with lecturing and educating the program about the field of physical therapy. He also provided sport medicine services to Landmark Christian School, Creekside High School and Langston Hughes High School Athletics Program.
